Townlands Jigsaw Project
P6/7 pupils took part in the Townlands Jigsaw Project, a cross-curricular initiative linking Literacy, History, Geography and Art & Design. Through research, discussion and creative work, pupils explored the history, meanings and importance of local townlands within the Erne East area.
Working collaboratively during our Shared Education with Brookeborough Controlled Primary School, pupils transformed their learning into symbolic designs which were transferred onto wooden jigsaw pieces, celebrating local heritage and identity. The project encouraged strong listening, talking and reflection skills, while also promoting community links and shared education through cross-school collaboration. The completed jigsaw will be showcased at a celebration event, highlighting pupils’ learning and pride in their local area.
