On Thursday the 5th June 2025, P5/6/7 had a wonderful school trip to the Energia Windfarm at Teiges Hill. The trip started off with a Health and safety video, then the pupils had the opportunity to see a live drone in action which is used to survey the top of the wind turbines. Pupils were able to lift the drone and some were encouraged to navigate the controls for the drone. Finally, the pupils had a tour inside the wind turbines. Pupils were amazed that one of the wind turbines were switched off remotely when we were on the site by a worker in Germany. Pupils were gifted with a bag filled with Energia merchandise. Our class thoroughly enjoyed this school trip and we have learnt a lot about renewable energy as a result!
