Minibeast Hotel, Butterfly release and Ladybirds

3rd Jun 2026

Please enjoy this short video showcasing some of the wonderful learning experiences our P3/4/5 pupils have been involved in as part of their minibeasts topic.

You will see the children working together to design and build their very own minibeast hotels, using natural and recycled materials to create safe habitats for insects around our school grounds. This hands-on activity has helped develop their understanding of biodiversity and the importance of caring for living things.

The video also captures a very special moment as pupils release butterflies, having observed their life cycle in class, as well as releasing ladybirds to support our local ecosystem. The excitement and sense of responsibility shown by the children has been fantastic to see!

We are very proud of the pupils’ enthusiasm and teamwork throughout this project, and we hope you enjoy watching these highlights of their learning in action.
