Before we went on our midterm break our class marked Internet Safety Day with a special lesson called My Life Online. We listened to the story “Digiduck’s Big Decision” from the Digiduck series and discussed the important message about thinking carefully before sharing online. The children talked thoughtfully about how the internet is part of many areas of our lives …from games and You Tube to messaging, homework and smart devices in our homes. Together we explored: what information is safe to share, the importance of asking a trusted adult, how to make kind and sensible choices online and what to do if something online makes us feel worried or unsure. A very important conversation for helping our children stay safe and confident in their digital world.
